Chapter 3 第3章 (iii) Patent Contest and Design Patent Contest*29 The contests (co-organized by the JPO, INPIT, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and the JPAA and supported by WIPO) select and recognize particularly outstanding inventions and designs created by high school, technical college, and university students, and provide support to the winning students, ranging from patent or design application to acquisition of rights for their submitted works. • In FY2025, there were 605 entries in the Patent category and 711 entries in the Design Patent category. Following screening by the Selection Committee, 60 works were honored with the Special Award and the Outstanding Achievement Award.
